Music Bio

Dean is a saxophonist, arranger, composer, and producer. He attended the University of Wisconsin music school and later studied at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Berklee College of Music. He spent six years as a clarinetist in the 132d Army Band. Dean has studied classically with Eugene Rousseau and had formal lessons with several jazz luminaries, including Richard Davis, Dave Liebman, Gary Burton, Steve Wiest, and Mike Crotty. Dean has performed with many notable artists including The Temptations, Spooner, Diane Schuur, Bob Mintzer, Frank Mantooth, Red Skelton, Englebert Humperdinck, The Ringling Brothers Circus, and former Count Basie drummer Harold Jones. Dean spent over a decade performing with James Brown's "Funky Drummer" Clyde Stubblefied. He currently plays lead tenor sax in the Superstition Jazz Orchestra.
